Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest African Coca-Cola Bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we seek to recruit a Process Operator - Water Treatment based in Mbarara.
As a Process Operator - Water Treatment, you will report directly to the Quality Assurance Technologist.
KEY PURPOSE STATEMENT
The primary role of the water treatment process operator is to ensure that the process for water and wastewater from the treatment Plants complies to all quality, food safety and environment standards and requirements. He/she operates and ensures that the equipment is maintained as per work instructions.

Operating the process equipment according to the work instructions.
Carrying out the required quality checks as described in the quality control and analysis work practices.
Ensuring that the operating procedures for the water and wastewater treatment Plants are up to date and controlled in Achiever Plus.
Ensuring that routine sampling of wastewater effluent is done as per procedure and routine.
Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices.
Identifying and correcting unsafe work practices
Carrying out quality checks and analysis as per the quality procedures
Ensuring that records of all the routine tests are up to date and well maintained.
Making use of the gap list to record issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.
Applying the appropriate situational problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5Why, quick fix routines, OPL’s (One Point Lessons), etc.) to identify and correct the problem.
Carrying out any other tasks as may be required by the Line Manager.
Participating in food safety management system implementation.
Reporting food safety, defence and fraud related issues to food safety team leader designate (SHEQ) manager.
Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or any other related field.
Added advantage: Computer and technical skills.

All aspects of Food processing operations and process control
Competencies
Ability to work in teams.
Understanding of the application of WCM foundational practices
Troubleshooting skills & computer skills
Quality control practices and principles
Bottling principles and processes
Product handling knowledge
Understanding of SHEQ policies and procedures
