Job Description
The Power System Controller is responsible for the real-time supervision of power system operations with a focus on generation resources optimization and grid reliability. The role ensures system frequency and voltages are maintained within nominal limits while managing outages and operational safety.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervision of real time demand and supply balance (system frequency kept within +/-1% of nominal).
- System voltages maintained within +/-10% of nominal.
- Implementing planned outages and management of forced outages, including operational safety.
- Compilation of outages statistics.
- Optimal dispatch of available generation from cascaded hydropower plants.
