We seek a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teaching Assistant who will contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. The ideal candidate will support students in achieving their full potential—academically, physically, socially, and emotionally—while upholding the school’s ethos and values.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Classroom Environment & Ethos

  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students, embracing diversity and individuality.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized physical space, showcasing student work and reporting any issues promptly.

  • Monitor student attendance, hygiene, and uniform compliance; lead by example in punctuality and appearance.

Teaching & Learning

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of physical education lessons, ensuring alignment with school goals and curriculum.

  • Support the development of critical thinking, creativity, ethics, responsibility, and problem-solving skills in students.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to enhance instructional strategies.

  • Track and support student progress; assist in setting and achieving academic performance targets.

  • Mark homework and provide meaningful feedback to aid student growth.

Community Engagement

  • Engage with parents through regular communication and parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress.

  • Attend all class-level and school-wide meetings, including those relevant to specialist subject areas.

  • Promote a positive image of the school in both internal and external communities.

Professional Development

  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development workshops, especially in innovative and student-centered teaching methodologies.

  • Reflect on personal learning needs and set goals in alignment with the Aga Khan Education Services’ professional growth framework.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Sports Science or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a relevant curriculum.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of effective teaching practices and education regulations.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication.

    • Effective classroom management and organizational abilities.

    • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well in a team.

    • Experience with student-centered pedagogy.
