The Patient Access Associate receives, processes, and registers patients entering the hospital for most outpatient and inpatient services.
Requests and accurately records required patient demographic, physician and insurance related information.
Secures pre-registration patient data for Diagnostic Imaging Services as well as all direct admissions to the hospital.
Completes preliminary registration and admission related paperwork.
Coordinates and assigns room and bed accommodations. Provides clerical support to the department as needed, and performs other job-related tasks as directed.
High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred or at least two years equivalent experience in a health care environment.
Knowledge of third party payers preferred.
Excellent typing skills and ability to operate standard office equipment necessary.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and be proficient in the English language. Knowledge of medical terminology, word processing, statistical tools such as Lotus 1-2-3 and other computer applications preferred.
