Job Description
The Outreach Officer will lead and coordinate community engagement initiatives, awareness campaigns, and partnerships to promote mental health education and access to support services. The role focuses on increasing MHSU’s visibility, building trust with communities, and strengthening collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Plan and implement mental health awareness activities in schools, youth groups, and community spaces.
- Mobilize adolescents, youth, and community leaders to participate in MHSU programs.
- Use creative and art-based approaches to promote mental health education and stigma reduction.
Program Implementation
- Support the delivery of art therapy and psychosocial activities.
- Assist in organizing workshops, dialogue sessions, and campaigns.
- Monitor and document outreach activities and community feedback.
Partnerships & Networking
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, CSOs, schools, and local authorities.
- Represent MHSU at community forums and stakeholder meetings.
- Support donor and partner visits and reporting needs.
Monitoring, Reporting & Communication
- Collect data and prepare reports on outreach performance and impact.
- Document success stories and lessons learned.
- Contribute to MHSU’s communication and advocacy materials.
Administrative Support
- Maintain outreach records, schedules, and inventories.
- Support logistics for field activities and events.
