Job Description

This position involves operating specialized equipment for the production and packaging of oral powder formulations. Responsibilities include raw material weighing and blending, operating sachet filling machines, and conducting in-process quality checks. The role requires maintaining cleanliness in production areas, ensuring traceability through proper documentation, and supporting equipment changeovers and cleaning validation processes. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in pharmaceutical powder handling, a deep understanding of hygiene protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and regulated environment.

How to Apply

  • Operate blending and sachet-filling equipment in line with approved BMRs and SOPs.

  • Weigh and load raw materials into mixers accurately.

  • Monitor powder mixing and filling parameters to ensure consistency and uniformity.

  • Conduct and record in-process checks for weight variation, seal integrity, and blend uniformity.

  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of equipment and work areas as per SOPs.

  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and cleaning validation activities.

  • Document all production processes, batch logs, equipment use, and cleaning records in compliance with GDP.

  • Handle raw materials and finished products safely to prevent contamination.

  • Immediately report deviations, malfunctions, or safety issues to the supervisor.

  • Adhere strictly to safety, hygiene, and gowning procedures during production.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) is the minimum requirement.

  • A certificate or diploma in Industrial Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline is an added advantage.

Experience and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3–4 years’ experience in oral powder manufacturing or a similar production environment.

  • Skilled in operating powder filling and mixing equipment.

  • Knowledge of cGMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain product quality under pressure.

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a cleanroom setting.
