Job Description
Reporting to the Cluster Financial Controller, the Operational Financial Controller will oversee financial controlling activities for the Nairobi operations. Responsibilities include ensuring profitability at customer and file level, reconciling service center recoveries, supporting business cases for strategic projects, and monitoring billing accuracy to prevent revenue leakage. The role involves conducting monthly results analysis, advising operators on financial performance, and working with operations to optimize gross profit. The Controller will also drive system and process improvements, contribute to financial planning and analysis, and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders in achieving sustainable growth.

How to Apply
Ensure adherence to DHL Global Forwarding Steering Logic principles.
Monitor service center setups and address over/under recoveries promptly.
Challenge customer profitability, selling, and buying rates.
Review and resolve gross profit-sharing concerns.
Support Steering Logic reconciliations and address deviations.
Assist with strategic projects and business case analyses.
Provide functional support on CW1 processes and related financial tools.
Drive file management, focusing on billing accuracy and gross profit optimization.
Monitor billing timeliness, revenue leakage, cargo insurance, and disbursement fees.
Lead system and process improvement initiatives for financial controlling.
Analyze monthly financial results and address stakeholder queries.
Advise operations and management on financial decisions for growth and profitability.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional Qualification: CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in financial controlling, FP&A, or related finance roles.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Solid knowledge of data analytics tools and ERP/financial systems (CW1 experience an advantage).
Effective communication and stakeholder management.
Collaborative team player with resilience and adaptability.
Strong decision-making and project management skills.
