Job Description
The Collections Officer ensures timely processing of all client inflows into mutual fund accounts, monitors unconfirmed transactions, and applies funds based on accurate identification. This role involves daily transaction processing, especially for inflows below the approval threshold, and liaising with custodians to facilitate returns transactions. The officer plays a key role in safeguarding financial accuracy and upholding operational integrity within the collections function. Familiarity with transaction workflows, control procedures, and asset management operations is essential.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Process all client inflows into various mutual fund accounts within agreed timelines.
Monitor and manage unconfirmed inflows and transactions with vague narrations.
Liaise with custodians to execute return transactions according to established service level agreements (SLAs).
Ensure daily processing of returns for transactions under approved financial thresholds.
Support control and audit functions by adhering to transactional accuracy and policy compliance.
Maintain organized documentation and ensure clear recording of client payments.
Collaborate with internal departments for seamless fund application and client satisfaction.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
2–3 years post-NYSC experience in transaction processing or asset management.
Technical Competencies:
Knowledge of banking processes and procedures
Financial systems administration
Client account management
Product and services knowledge in asset management
Risk identification and management
Behavioural Competencies:
Articulating information clearly
Challenging ideas constructively
Documenting facts accurately
Developing expertise
Checking and verifying details
Embracing change proactively
