Job Description
The Officer, Reconciliations will handle the preparation of reconciliation reports, accurately match financial items, document all source materials, investigate outstanding issues, and ensure that these are cleared within acceptable timelines. The role requires strict adherence to ethical standards and internal controls. The Officer will also collaborate with internal teams to support transaction accuracy, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness. The position demands a strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate reconciliation reports.
Match and clear financial transactions within set timelines.
Save and archive all related source documents and backup files.
Investigate and resolve outstanding items efficiently.
Escalate unresolved discrepancies and support audit processes.
Execute all transactions in line with internal controls and ethical standards.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure transaction accuracy and compliance.
Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance reconciliation efficiency.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related Social Science discipline.
Experience:
2–3 years post-NYSC work experience.
Prior experience in financial services or asset management is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of transaction processing workflows and control processes.
