Job Description
Provide evidence-based midwifery care through the continuum: ANC, labor, delivery, PNC, and newborn care.
Monitor and manage normal and high-risk pregnancies and births; identify complications and initiate timely referrals.
Perform neonatal resuscitation and immediate essential newborn care.
Educate mothers/guardians on breastfeeding, family planning, danger signs, and newborn care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, registers, and reports.
Uphold infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
Participate in ward rounds, perinatal audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and support a patient-centered care culture.

How to Apply
Conduct focused ANC, labor monitoring (including partograph use), delivery, and PNC.
Assess, stabilize, and refer obstetric and neonatal emergencies per protocol.
Perform neonatal resuscitation; provide KMC and essential newborn care.
Counsel on breastfeeding, FP, birth preparedness, and newborn danger signs.
Ensure strict adherence to IPC, drug handling, and waste management.
Complete patient files, registers, and periodic reports accurately and on time.
Participate in perinatal audits, CMEs, and QI initiatives.
Safeguard patient rights, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery from a recognized institution.
Registration and valid practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
1–5 years’ experience; at least 1 year in a maternity unit (Level 3+ an added advantage).
Desirable certifications: EmONC and/or Helping Babies Breathe (HBB).
Strong clinical judgement, teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a high-demand maternity setting; compassionate and respectful.
Salary Range: KSh 30,000 – 50,000 per month
