Job Description
Under the Supervision of the Medical Doctor, the MHPSS/GBV Counsellor will be responsible for identifying individuals with mental health distress or survivors of GBV. The role involves providing the first line of care and linking them to referral services. The counsellor will work within MdM mobile clinics to ensure psychosocial needs are met through sessions and sensitization.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Program Implementation
- Identify and respond to survivors arising needs and work in close collaboration with other team to ensure the survivors psych-social and other needs are well met.
- Deliver one-on-one Psychosocial support sessions to identified clients through MdM mobile Clinic.
- Deliver health education/sensitization on MHPSS and GBV related topics in MdM mobile clinics.
- Coordinate internal and external referrals to survivors according to their needs
- Work in close collaboration with GBV Officer to update referral pathways and systems between community and PHC actors.
Program Reporting
- Collect and report appropriate MHPSS and GBV data of the mobile clinic.
- Ensure regular reporting and tracking of survivors referred using the referral tracker form.
Reporting and attendance to different meetings
- Prepare a weekly activities report to submit to Medical Doctor
- Participate in a pro-active way to MdM internal meetings (medical, security…)
- Participate to all the trainings organized by MDM
OTHERS:
- Give suggestions to improve the functioning of MDM mobile clinics
- Participate to the loading and unloading of the vehicles and to the setting up of the mobile clinics
- Be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries are getting good quality services
