Job Description
The Medical Laboratory Technologist will work in county health facilities to provide diagnostic laboratory services. Duties include receiving and processing specimens, preparing stains and reagents, conducting tests such as blood grouping, and issuing blood and blood products. The officer will ensure proper documentation of results, decontaminate working areas, and uphold safety and quality standards. The position is offered on a contract basis and requires adherence to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians & Technologists Board (KMLTTB).

How to Apply
Prepare reagents, stains, and laboratory materials.
Receive, scrutinize, label, and register specimens.
Collect and disaggregate specimens for analysis.
Examine specimens and perform routine diagnostic tests.
Write, record, and dispatch test results for clinical use.
Perform blood grouping and issue blood/blood products to health facilities.
Store blood products under appropriate conditions.
Decontaminate working benches and maintain laboratory hygiene.
Prepare clients for specimen collection.
Ensure laboratory practices meet professional and safety standards.

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMLTTB.
Registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians & Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
Valid practicing license from KMLTTB.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to national values and principles (Articles 10 & 232, Constitution of Kenya, 2010).
Must satisfy requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 (integrity, accountability, leadership).
