Job Description

Position Title: Mechanical Supervisor – Uganda (Open to Kenyan and Ugandan Nationals)

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of plant maintenance mechanics. The successful candidate will ensure all mechanical equipment and systems operate efficiently, with minimal downtime, while upholding high safety and performance standards.


Key Objective

To supervise and coordinate the repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment in the plant, ensuring smooth operations and the achievement of departmental goals.

How to Apply

  • Supervise daily tasks of Plant Maintenance Mechanics in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Plan, assign, and oversee the execution of maintenance and installation activities.

  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules and equipment usage plans.

  • Monitor inventory and ensure proper use and procurement of tools, spare parts, and materials.

  • Assist the Mechanical Officer in identifying design and operational requirements for new equipment or upgrades.

  • Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Education:

  • Ordinary or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar supervisory role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Language:

  • Proficiency in English is required.

  • Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.


Authority & Reporting

This role reports directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Officer and holds delegated authority for all supervisory functions related to mechanical maintenance activities.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Must be capable of lifting and moving items up to 20 kilograms.

  • Required to follow strict safety protocols due to the high-risk nature of working with mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • May be required to work at elevated heights (e.g., rooftops or elevated platforms).

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Good physical fitness and stamina.

  • Normal color vision is essential.

  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

  • Flexible, tactful, and able to work with diverse teams.
