Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for executing maintenance control activities for heavy equipment and machinery within the project workshop. This includes planning, implementing, and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure equipment availability, reliability, and performance.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and monitor maintenance control systems to ensure consistent performance and availability of heavy equipment.
- Carry out equipment inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance as per service schedules.
- Manage maintenance records and track equipment history.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with established maintenance plans.
- Analyze breakdown trends and recommend solutions to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all maintenance activities, including parts used and time spent.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
- Support continuous improvement of maintenance processes and reduce equipment downtime.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Equipment Manager.
