Job Title: Mechanical Engineer & Quality Control (QC) Manager – Electrical (EACOP Project)
Location: Uganda (Site-based)
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Start Date: October 2025
Project Overview
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is a vital cross-border initiative transporting crude oil from Uganda’s oil fields to the Tanzanian coast. Schneider Electric leads the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecommunications Systems (EITS) integration, ensuring reliable energy delivery and operational excellence throughout the project.
Schneider Electric’s Role
As the EITS integrator, Schneider Electric manages the design, installation, and commissioning of all electrical systems critical for safe and efficient crude oil transport. This involves complex technical integration and rigorous testing to guarantee full system functionality by project completion.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer & QC Manager will oversee mechanical installation activities and enforce stringent quality control standards for the electrical infrastructure of the EACOP project. This dual role ensures that mechanical tasks—such as e-house reassembly, HVAC systems, cable containment, enclosures, and earthing systems—are executed to design specifications and comply with Schneider Electric and oil & gas industry quality standards. The position requires close collaboration with electrical, civil, and commissioning teams, subcontractor management, and direct client engagement during inspections and audits.
