Job Description
The Mechanic will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained to professional standards. Duties include diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, repairing and reconning components such as starters, alternators, and ECU systems, as well as coding keys and programming ECU units. The role requires a trade-tested motor mechanic with strong diagnostic skills, the ability to train co-workers, and experience with electrical wiring, diagnostics equipment, and fault-finding. The position demands professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance.
Conduct mechanical and electronic diagnostics.
Diagnose and repair ECU systems, wiring, and electrical components.
Recon and repair starters, alternators, and other electrical parts.
Program ECU units and code vehicle keys.
Order and source parts as required.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Troubleshoot and provide fault-finding solutions.
Train co-workers and share technical expertise.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certification: Trade Test Motor Mechanic (Red Seal).
Experience: 5–7 years of experience in diagnostics, mechanical and electrical repairs.
Licensing: Valid driver’s license.
Technical Competencies:
Strong background in mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
Proficiency in using diagnostics equipment and ECU systems.
Knowledge of programming ECU’s and key coding.
Ability to repair wiring, alternators, starters, and other components.
Computer literacy.
Personal Attributes:
Presentable appearance and sober habits.
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in a team.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
