Job Description
The role focuses on shaping and executing MTN’s long-term postpaid pricing strategy in a highly dynamic and competitive telecom market. The Manager will align pricing objectives with the overall strategic roadmap, develop methodologies, and introduce innovative solutions to maximize value. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal stakeholders to execute product and pricing initiatives, conducting market and competitor analysis, and supporting senior management in pricing-related business cases. The manager will oversee ICASA regulatory lodgements, tariff maintenance, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Analytics and reporting functions involve profitability analyses, revenue forecasting, budgeting input, and delivering actionable insights through research and competitive intelligence. The role further involves leadership of a pricing team, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and effective governance of pricing projects.

How to Apply
Develop and implement postpaid pricing strategy aligned with MTN’s commercial objectives.
Lead pricing roadmap projects with cross-functional teams (Product, Finance, Sales, Regulatory, Marketing).
Conduct competitor and market research to anticipate trends and adjust pricing models.
Develop pricing frameworks, methodologies, and advanced analytical models.
Manage ICASA regulatory lodgements and ensure tariff compliance.
Maintain central pricing repository, migration tables, and rate cards.
Enhance efficiency through automation of pricing processes.
Conduct profitability analysis and provide input to revenue forecasting and budgeting.
Monitor and report on competitor activities, pricing trends, and financial impacts.
Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and service providers.
Lead and support a team of pricing analysts to deliver results.
Education:
Minimum: 4-year Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field.
Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field.
Certifications in Finance, Data Science, Strategic Pricing, or Advanced Analytics (advantageous).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in pricing strategy, modelling, and market analysis.
Experience supervising or managing teams.
Proven experience manipulating big data and conducting customer behavioural analysis.
Experience in medium to large organizations within telecom or related industries.
Skills and Competencies:
Mastery of advanced analytics tools (Excel Macros, Python, SQL, Power BI).
Strong commercial judgment, strategic thinking, and data storytelling skills.
Leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation capabilities.
Business acumen to drive financial and customer insights through pricing.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
