Job Description
Job Title: Manager – BankTech (Saving & Lending)

The Manager Lending and savings is responsible for supporting the management and commercial development of activities of BankTech solutions such as savings, loans, investment, and insurance products through new, innovative and customer-friendly solutions.
The role also entails management of existing products in the portfolio to grow customer uptake, volumes, value and revenue. Stakeholder management for the existing partners to ensure that they meet their obligations and targets.
The role works closely with other functions such as Technology and Commercial Operations to maximize revenue growth and deployment of products as per the Savings and Loans, investment and insurance product roadmap.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and implement the annual BankTech roadmap and budget that ensures achievement of MTN MoMo Ug’s business objectives.
Oversee BankTech product management, product development lifecycle and actions aimed at increasing users, engagement, usage and revenue.
Work closely with the product development team to design, create, implement, and optimize loan and savings, investments and Insurtech products to enhance customer adoption, usage, and retention.
Monitor and adjust product strategies based on market trends, competitor analysis and performance data.
Lead the deployment of propelling value propositions, new features or modifications on BankTech products based on user feedback, analytics, and competitive benchmarking.
Manage BankTech products portfolio to optimize revenue and grow overall profitability of existing product offerings while innovating
Analyze the bank tech landscape and undertake annual, quarterly, and monthly planning to ensure the effective implementation of the marketing mix (Price, Place, Promotion, Product and Processes).
Work with internal & external stakeholders to monitor performance of existing products, identify and close service gaps aimed at driving product & revenue growth
Liase with Legal, & compliance teams to ensure that all Savings, Lending, investment and Insurtech products abide to prevailing regulations and business rules.
Work with internal stakeholders to monitor performance of existing products; cost effectiveness to drive healthy contributory margins & pricing to ensure product/ service uptake and profitability
Work closely with Technology to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
Stakeholder Management
Work with internal & external stakeholders to monitor performance of existing products, identify and close service gaps aimed at driving product & revenue growth.
Manage relationships with existing and prospective BankTech partners to ensure alignment on goals and initiatives.
Coordinate weekly, monthly and adhoc review meetings with the BankTech partners.
Liaise with Legal & compliance teams to ensure that all BankTech products abide to prevailing regulations and business rules.
Provide actionable insights to stakeholders to improve service delivery, customer experience, and financial inclusion.
Product Development, Delivery and GTM
Manage the BankTech products’ roadmap to ensure that items are delivered within the expected timelines.
Collaborate with the product development team to design and launch new BankTech products.
Collaborate with the market research to identify customer needs and preferences.
Work closely with the IT department to ensure seamless integration of BankTech products.
Identify gaps and implement technology solutions to enhance the customer user experience.
Project Management. Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of assigned projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, time, and budget while meeting quality standards.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop GTM plans for new products.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation of approved GTM strategies.
Data analysis and Reporting
Analyse portfolio performance, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve product offerings.
Prepare regular and adhoc reports on BankTech product performance for senior management.
Churn Analysis Perform weekly and monthly analyses to assess the impact of loans on customer churn.
Develop and implement initiatives aimed at mitigating churn risk based on analysis findings.
Audit Compliance
Ensure all audit findings are addressed and closed within the stipulated timelines.
Implement corrective measures to prevent the recurrence of identified audit issues.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Technology or related field
Proficient with MS Office application especially Excel and Power Point
Relevant Certifications
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years total experience in products development/management or an allied field is required.
Experience in Fintech, Product management, financial sector, Project management, Advanced Services or Mobile Money is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in telecommunications, product development/agile project management, customer services, or marketing.
Strong understanding of digital lending and fintech platforms.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial products, particularly loans and saving
Knowledge & Training

Possess the authority, presence, and integrity to command respect from colleagues and from external contacts
Creative strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Fintech industry and a passion for creating innovative new products that meet customer needs.
Technology proficiency in relevant technologies, material, and a good understanding of product design and development methodologies.
Adaptability with changing market conditions and customer needs with ability to pivot quickly if a product is not performing well and be willing to adjust the development process as needed.
Work experience across diverse cultures and geographies
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to use initiative and multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
Ability to self-manage a diverse workload and deadline.
Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
