Job Description
The Machinery Lead III evaluates and comments on discipline engineering produced in-house and by EPC/contractor teams; stewards design reviews and approvals; and ensures alignment with project procedures and standards. The role plans and facilitates discipline routines, coordinates interfaces with Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping, Civil/Structural, Construction and Operations, and drives timely, accurate communication on progress, risks, and issues. Responsibilities include managing technical queries and change, tracking action items, supporting procurement (specifications, vendor document reviews), and ensuring quality requirements are embedded through fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning and handover. The Lead champions safety in design, mentors engineers, and sustains continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Review and approve machinery discipline deliverables for compliance with specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Facilitate discipline engineering routines; plan workloads, priorities, and milestones to meet project targets.
Coordinate contractor/subcontractor activities; resolve technical queries, deviations, and interface issues.
Ensure documents (specs, datasheets, drawings) are current; drive timely responses and close-outs.
Support procurement and vendor management (technical bid evaluations, VDRs, inspection/test plans).
Steward quality and safety in design; participate in HAZID/HAZOP/constructability/start-up readiness reviews.
Track progress, risks, and changes; communicate status to project leadership and adjacent Functions.
Provide field/yard technical support during installation, pre-commissioning, and handover.
Coach and mentor junior engineers; promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience: 10–20 years relevant engineering experience, including contractor oversight and multi-discipline coordination.
Technical: Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria; proficiency with Microsoft Office; excellent technical writing/review skills.
Core Competencies: Leadership aligned to company mission/values; exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; able to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities; fluent in English (technical/business).
