Job Description
The Machine Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production operations. The role requires technical expertise, practical problem‑solving skills, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and machine uptime.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Machine Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on industrial machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose equipment faults, identify root causes of mechanical issues, and conduct timely repairs.
- Installation & Adjustment: Install new machinery components and adjust settings or alignments according to specifications.
- Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged machine parts and components as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports, including work completed, parts used, and scheduled servicing.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for self and other employees.
- Support Production: Work closely with production teams to ensure machines are operating efficiently and production targets are met.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to machinery operation, maintenance processes, and workshop organization.
