JOB OPPORTUNITY: M&E Assistant
Organization: Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE)
Location: Kampala, Uganda
As we expand our reach and impact, FOWODE is seeking a passionate and proactive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to support our team. This position is based at the FOWODE Head Office in Kampala and reports to the M&E Officer.

Ensure the availability and proper use of data collection tools across all program areas in collaboration with program staff.
Support the maintenance and updating of a centralized M&E data system across all projects.
Assist in establishing and managing effective feedback and response mechanisms for project beneficiaries.
Work closely with the M&E Officer to analyze data and summarize implementation indicators.
Provide technical assistance to field teams and partners on M&E operations, including data collection, management, and quality assurance.
Facilitate the use of digital data platforms (e.g., Kobo Collect), including training and troubleshooting for teams and enumerators.
Manage and maintain project databases, ensuring data quality, consistency, and confidentiality.
Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports.
Collaborate with field teams to identify and document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
Monitor project outputs and activities to ensure alignment with indicators and targets.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation is an added advantage.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in M&E, data management, or documentation within the NGO or development sector.
Strong proficiency in M&E tools and software such as Excel, KoboToolbox, Power BI, ODK, or SPSS.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
