Job Description
Job Title: Lifting Inspector

Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lifting Inspector to join our Uganda team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections and certifications of lifting equipment in accordance with international standards, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across various project sites, including oil and gas environments.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct inspection, testing, and certification of lifting equipment, lifting accessories, and cranes in line with international and project-specific standards.
Apply sound engineering judgment to assess the condition and integrity of lifting equipment.
Utilize NDT methods, particularly Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), during inspection processes where applicable.
Review and verify compliance with lifting standards including (but not limited to):
BS EN ISO 10855
BS EN 13414-1 & 2
BS EN 1677-1,2,3,4
BS 7121-1,2,3
Provide detailed inspection reports and recommendations for corrective action.
Ensure that lifting operations and equipment are compliant with relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
Coordinate with project teams and clients to schedule inspections at fabrication yards, warehouses, or remote field sites.
Travel frequently to remote project locations as required.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in lifting inspection.
Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
Experience working on international projects is preferred.
Certifications:
A minimum of three (3) LEEA Diploma certificates required (e.g., LEEA 1, 2, 3, 4).
NDT certification in MPI or other techniques is advantageous.
Key Competencies and Skills:
Deep understanding of lifting equipment standards and inspection protocols.
Strong technical and engineering judgment with attention to detail.
Proficient in reporting and documentation of inspection findings.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including to remote or offshore locations.
Good physical health, capable of conducting field-based inspections.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
High degree of professionalism and integrity.
