About the Organisation
Bugema University is a private, co-educational institution of higher learning located in Kalagala, Luweero District, Uganda, approximately 33 kilometers northeast of Kampala. Established in 1948 as the Bugema Missionary Training School to train teachers and pastors for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in East Africa, it evolved into Bugema Missionary College and later Bugema Adventist College.
In 1994, it attained university status, and in 1997, it was licensed by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports to operate as a university. Affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bugema University is part of the global Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second-largest Christian school system.
The university offers a diverse range of academic programs across various disciplines, including Business Administration, Education, Theology and Religious Studies, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Health and Allied Sciences, and Social Sciences.
It provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, some in collaboration with international institutions like the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (Kenya), and Central Luzon State University (Philippines). The university's mission is to offer an excellent and distinctive holistic Christian education designed to prepare students, through training, research, and scholarship, for productive lives of service to God and the community with integrity, encapsulated in its motto: "Excellence in Service."

Job Description
The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting research, supervising student projects, and participating in curriculum development. They will also engage in scholarly activities and support the university’s mission of producing competent and service-driven graduates.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and facilitate learning in the relevant field of specialization.
Supervise and guide students in research and practical work.
Prepare and update course materials and syllabi.
Conduct academic research and contribute to publications.
Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and curriculum development.
Mentor students and provide academic guidance.
Contribute to community engagement and outreach programs.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:
Agriculture
Chemistry
Public Health
Information Technology
A PhD or PhD candidacy will be an added advantage.
Prior experience in teaching at university level is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in the use of modern teaching technologies and methodologies.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
