Job Description
This full-time role involves supporting the laboratory through specimen preparation, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and executing various administrative and general duties. The Lab Assistant will also participate in training to complete learner lab assistant requirements. The position requires strong client relations, familiarity with pathology procedures, and knowledge of laboratory systems like Meditech.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Clean and maintain the laboratory to ensure a hygienic and safe working environment
Assist in preparing cytology specimens for processing
Receive and log cytology specimens to facilitate smooth specimen flow
Perform general laboratory tasks to support operational efficiency
Execute administrative duties to maintain effective lab systems
Maintain positive client relations to uphold the image of Ampath
Complete all tasks and coursework related to the lab assistant training program
