Job Description

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving Unilever's customer development strategy across emerging channels, including small supermarkets, pharmacies, petrol marts, and institutional outlets. This individual will identify new growth opportunities, build strong relationships with channel partners, lead joint business planning, and negotiate commercial terms to optimize brand visibility and sales. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure successful execution of category and channel strategies. Regular performance tracking, reporting, and stakeholder engagement are key aspects of the role.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize emerging sales channels for business growth.

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies tailored to specific channel needs.

  • Lead and manage relationships with small supermarkets and other emerging outlets.

  • Create and align joint business plans with key channel partners.

  • Negotiate commercial terms to ensure favorable business outcomes.

  • Collaborate with marketing on channel-specific promotional campaigns.

  • Ensure product assortment, availability, and correct pricing at point-of-sale.

  • Track and analyze sales performance and recommend strategic adjustments.

  • Gather and provide market intelligence, shopper insights, and competitor analysis.

  • Drive achievement of sales targets and ensure alignment with corporate goals.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

  • Proven sales or business development experience with a focus on emerging channels.

  • Strong understanding of sales metrics and performance analysis.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and commercial acumen.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Experience in trade management and commercial strategy execution.

  • Proficiency in Joint Business Planning and NRM levers.

  • Passion for high performance, personal mastery, and consumer-centric thinking.
