How to Apply
Investment Research and Analysis
Conduct market research and macroeconomic analysis on local, regional, and global trends.
Perform company and sector analyses, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment.
Prepare investment briefs, presentations, and reports to support portfolio decisions.
Portfolio Monitoring and Support
Assist in monitoring daily performance of client portfolios against benchmarks.
Track asset allocation, liquidity, and compliance with investment guidelines.
Support the Investment Manager in portfolio rebalancing, trade execution, and performance attribution.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare periodic investment reports for clients, management, and regulators.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in generating performance data, analytics, and dashboards.
Maintain investment databases and research libraries.
Client and Stakeholder Support
Assist in preparing client presentations, pitches, and reviews.
Respond to client information requests on performance, markets, and investment products.
Support relationship management activities under the guidance of the Investment Manager.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure adherence to Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Uganda and other regulatory requirements.
Monitor portfolio risks and flag any breaches of investment guidelines.
Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and reporting obligations.
Team and Administrative Support
Collaborate with operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth investment processes.
Performs any other duties as required
Key performance Measures
Quality, timeliness, and accuracy of research and reports.
Contribution to investment decisions and portfolio performance.
Client satisfaction with reporting and support.
Compliance with investment guidelines and regulatory standards.
Efficiency in supporting the investment team’s operations.
Client retention and satisfaction levels.
Compliance with regulatory requirements (zero penalties/sanctions).
Growth in assets under management (AUM).
Provide technical support to the Investment Manager and other team members.
Contribute to special projects, new product development, and innovation initiatives.
Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field (mandatory).
Progress towards or possession of a professional qualification such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or CISI is highly desirable.
Professional Experience
1–2 years of relevant experience in investment research, asset management, portfolio management, corporate finance, or financial advisory.
Experience in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and economic/market analysis.
Exposure to managing or monitoring multi-asset portfolios (equities, fixed income, alternatives, money markets).
Familiarity with the Ugandan and East African capital markets, investment instruments, and regulatory environment (Capital Markets Authority Uganda, Bank of Uganda, and other relevant bodies).
Knowledge and Skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation tools.
Knowledge of portfolio management principles, asset allocation, and investment strategies.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and investment tools/software such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or equivalent.
Good understanding of risk management frameworks and compliance requirements in asset management.
Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to ethical investment practices.
