Job Description
ASA Microfinance (U) Ltd is seeking for professional, confident, self-motivated, and committed team players to reinforce its capacity by filling the following vacant positions:
Job Summary:
The Internal Controls Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and strengthening the Institution’s internal control framework to ensure effective risk mitigation, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safeguarding of assets.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide internal control framework aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Ensure controls are embedded within business processes, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct periodic control self-assessments (CSAs) and independent control testing across branches and departments.
- Conduct branch reviews and operational control assessments.
- Identify control gaps, weaknesses, and process inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with business units to design preventive and detective controls for key operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Support the implementation of risk mitigation plans arising from audits, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews.
- Track control issues, management action plans, and remediation timelines.
- Prepare internal control reports for Senior Management.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance control effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to approved procedures, limits, and authorization matrices.
- Review incidents, losses, and near misses to strengthen control environments.
- Train staff on internal control requirements, ownership, and accountability.
- Promote a strong control culture across the Institution.
