The successful candidate will handle the full scope of internal communications within the municipality, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging information dissemination. The role involves coordinating communication activities, managing online platforms, supporting events, and assisting in stakeholder engagement. The officer will also design communication materials, analyze data for decision-making, and maintain confidentiality while ensuring communication aligns with municipal policies and objectives.

How to Apply
Coordinate both external and internal communications to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Manage and update the municipality’s social media platforms.
Assist in planning and organizing municipal events and stakeholder engagement activities.
Promote a positive municipal image through proactive media relations and public engagement.
Design and produce communication and promotional materials using graphic design tools.
Ensure information is conveyed effectively across multiple media channels.
Collaborate with internal departments to streamline communication processes.
Uphold high levels of confidentiality and ethical communication standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric & Higher Certificate, N streams/Diploma/National Diploma in Multimedia, ICT, Communications, Public Relations, Local Government, or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 2–3 years’ practical experience in local government communications.
Valid Code C1 Driver’s License.
Competencies:
Strong educational background with proven communication and data analysis skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and uphold confidentiality.
Proficiency in managing social media platforms and digital communications.
Graphic design and content creation skills.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and event coordination skills.
