The United Nations Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE), part of the Department of Operational Support (DOS), is seeking IT Client Services Interns to join its Client Services Section. These internships offer hands-on experience in client support, data analytics, and IT service delivery within a dynamic and multicultural UN environment.
Interns will report directly to the Client Services Officer and will be based on-site at the RSCE in Entebbe, Uganda.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Client Services Officer, selected interns will:
Shadow staff in Client Relations, Knowledge Management, and Client Support Units.
Assist in designing and delivering MS PowerBI dashboards for managerial decision-making.
Develop and manage Excel-based data structures for Business Intelligence (BI) purposes.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
Design and analyze client service surveys.
Draft client service reports using Microsoft 365 applications.
Perform QA and testing on automated processes.
Support users in troubleshooting client service tools.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
Learning Outcomes: Interns will gain practical skills in client support, IT service management, and data analytics, while engaging with various UN systems and tools.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Currently enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate program (master’s level or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, or a related field;or
Currently enrolled in, or have completed, the final year of a bachelor’s degree in one of the fields above.
Experience:
No prior work experience required.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, PowerBI, and Excel is desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Knowledge of French is an advantage.

Teamwork: Collaborative, respectful, and open to diverse perspectives.
Planning & Organization: Strong time management and goal-setting abilities.
Additional Information
Duration: 6 months, full-time (40 hours/week)
Location: On-site in Entebbe, Uganda
This is an unpaid internship. All living costs, including travel and accommodation, are the responsibility of the intern or sponsoring institution.
Visa and work authorization may be required depending on your nationality.
