Job Description
The position is responsible for developing and enforcing information security policies, conducting vulnerability assessments, monitoring threats, and leading incident response activities. The specialist will identify risks, deploy and manage security tools, coordinate with IT and development teams on secure infrastructure, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role includes training staff on cybersecurity awareness, preparing security reports for management, and continuously improving the organization’s cybersecurity posture by staying updated on emerging threats and industry best practices.

How to Apply
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of IT systems.
Perform risk analysis and implement risk management strategies to protect sensitive data.
Develop and maintain threat models to proactively address potential risks.

Develop guidelines for secure practices (passwords, data encryption, safe browsing).
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements on data protection and privacy.
Prepare and present reports on the organization’s security status.
Collaborate with IT and development teams on secure infrastructure and coding practices.
Stay updated on cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation strategies.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from a recognized institution.
Certified industry accreditations (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) or membership in recognized professional associations.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (integrity, accountability, and leadership).
