Job Description
Reporting to the ICT Manager/Systems Administrator, the ICT Assistant will handle day-to-day IT support, including on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and performance monitoring of desktops, laptops, and communication equipment. The role will maintain an updated inventory of IT hardware, document technical issues and solutions, and ensure the security of IT infrastructure through audits, log analysis, and backups. Additionally, the ICT Assistant will collaborate with system administrators to optimize desktop computing performance, contribute to IT projects, and provide exceptional customer service to internal staff.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop and communication equipment issues.
Collaborate with system administrators to ensure efficient desktop environment operations.
Prepare and run performance monitoring tests; provide performance reports.
Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware, including monitors, hard drives, modems, and network components.
Document desktop equipment failures, repairs, installations, and removals.
Conduct audits, analyze logs, and perform backups to ensure IT security.
Support remote users with off-site troubleshooting and repairs.
Recommend corrective IT solutions to enhance performance and minimize downtime.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
Added Advantage: Professional certifications in ICT (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft).
Experience:
At least 3 years’ general IT experience.
Minimum 1 year in a similar role.
Preferably in the manufacturing sector.

Strong ICT technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Customer service focus with teamwork spirit.
Planning, organizing, and project management skills.
Innovativeness and creativity.
Computer Literacy: MS Office packages, IT software applications, and hardware knowledge.
Personality Profile: Positive, energetic, achievement-oriented, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and focused.
Additional Requirements:
Hardware background with mechanical aptitude.
Strong customer service orientation.
Willingness to work beyond normal hours and participate in on-call schedules.
Professional conduct with focus on customer satisfaction and security.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
