Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified ICT & Computer Primary Teacher with experience in delivering the Cambridge Curriculum. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to inspiring young learners, integrating technology into the classroom, and contributing actively to a collaborative educational environment.
This position requires a forward-thinking educator who values student-centered learning and is committed to continuous professional growth.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Classroom Environment & Ethos
Create an inclusive, respectful, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly classroom environment that celebrates student work.
Promote positive student behavior and uphold school behavior and appearance standards.
Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to uphold school values and policies.
Maintain confidentiality in student performance and records.
Teaching & Learning
Deliver engaging, effective ICT lessons in line with the Cambridge Curriculum.
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, ethics, and responsibility.
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations with a clear focus on academic excellence.
Regularly assess and provide constructive feedback on student progress through classwork, homework, and exams.
Work collaboratively with fellow educators and participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
Take an active role in co-curricular activities, including clubs, student leadership, and school events.
Community Engagement
Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and address concerns.
Attend and participate in school events and meetings at the class and school level.
Serve as a positive ambassador for the school within the broader community.
Professional Development
Engage in ongoing professional development workshops and training.
Stay up-to-date with best practices in pedagogy and digital instruction.
Identify personal development goals aligned with the school’s teacher career path framework.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years teaching ICT/Computer Studies in the Cambridge Curriculum
Proven track record of student academic progress and curriculum delivery
Certification:
Registered as a Graduate Teacher with Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports
Key Skills
Strong proficiency in using technology as a teaching tool
Familiarity with a variety of ICT software and educational applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and classroom management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents
