Job Description
China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. (CPP) is seeking a competent Ugandan national to join the team as an HR & Industrial Relations (HRIR) Lead for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project. The successful candidate will manage employee and contractor relations, acting as a key coordinator between Chinese management teams and the local workforce.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage employee and contractor relations, acting as a key coordinator between Chinese management teams and local workforce to ensure smooth HR/IR operations.
- Ensure all workers have valid contracts and understand employment terms
- Oversee grievance and disciplinary processes, ensuring fairness and compliance
- Monitor contractor HR/IR practices against project procedures
- Prepare weekly HR/IR reports and support ad-hoc reporting
- Oversee recruitment, screening, and pre-employment medical checks
- Support workforce planning and contractor demobilization
- Assist with HR investigations, IR non-conformances, and employee benefits support
