Job Description
Zonda Tec Ghana Limited is a leading distributor and service provider of heavy-duty Chinese vehicles and machinery, including Shantui, Sitrak, Howo, and other brands. The Heavy-Duty Auto Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on heavy-duty vehicles (Sitrak, Howo) and earthmoving equipment (Shantui bulldozers, loaders, etc.).
- Perform preventive maintenance, engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake systems, suspension, and steering work.
- Conduct welding and fabrication repairs on chassis, frames, and attachments as needed.
- Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Manage inventory of commonly used spare parts and advise on reordering.
- Supervise and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices when required.
