Job Description
The position of Health Information Assistant is available at Apac District Local Government and Apac Municipal Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate record-keeping, data management, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. They will work closely with healthcare teams to support informed decision-making and improve service delivery.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Collect, record, and manage health-related data from health facilities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, both manually and electronically.
Compile and submit periodic health information reports as required.
Support data analysis to inform healthcare planning and decision-making.
Maintain data confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection standards.
Assist healthcare teams in data management and reporting tasks.
Ensure proper filing and storage of health records.
Participate in training and capacity-building activities related to health information management.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Must be a Ugandan citizen.
Possession of a valid National Identity Card.
At least a Diploma in Medical Records and Health Information Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Must have a valid annual practicing license.
Proven ability to handle sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and data management skills.
Computer literacy with proficiency in data entry and analysis software.
How to Apply
Applications should be submitted in triplicate, handwritten on Public Service Commission Form 3 (revised 2008), to the following address:

Applications should include three sets of certified photocopies of academic transcripts, pass slips, identity cards from all institutions attended, registration and annual practicing license (where applicable), three recent passport-sized photographs, and any other relevant documents.
Serving officers should route their applications through their respective Heads of Departments or responsible officers for endorsement. Applicants with disabilities should indicate “PWD” in brackets after their names on the application form.

Apac District Local Government does not charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment process.
