About the Organisation

The Agricultural Business Initiative (aBi) is a development organization in Uganda with a mission to promote private sector agribusiness growth through increased productivity, market competitiveness, and enhanced access to financial services, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction. Established in 2010 by the Government of Uganda and development partners including Denmark, Sweden, and the EU, aBi has built a strong reputation for driving inclusive agricultural development through results-oriented programs and impactful partnerships.

Known for its dynamic and purpose-driven work culture, aBi offers employees meaningful roles in shaping Uganda’s agricultural future, supported by professional development and equitable work arrangements. With a national footprint and influence across various value chains including coffee, maize, dairy, and horticulture, aBi continues to scale its reach through digital tools, climate-smart agriculture, and gender-inclusive strategies. Its core values—accountability, professionalism, innovation, and impact—are reflected in its CSR initiatives, which focus on environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and inclusive growth.
