Job Description

This senior leadership role serves as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director of Pan African Programs (PANA), contributing to program alignment, performance tracking, stakeholder engagement, and strategic decision-making. The Head will lead planning, coordination, and evaluation efforts across programs and provide analytical insights to ensure effective implementation. Responsibilities include overseeing governance processes, identifying risks, maintaining tools for monitoring progress, and facilitating high-level internal and external stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in international development, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and mission-driven environment.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree or higher in Public Policy, International Development, Business Management, Social Sciences, or a related field

  • 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in executive support, strategy, or program management in large-scale development or international institutions

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience advising senior executives

  • Strong project and program management skills

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional alignment and complex initiatives

  • High-level stakeholder engagement experience, including with donors and governments

  • Strong data analysis and decision-making support skills

  • Deep understanding of Africa’s socio-economic and political context

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • High ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability

  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and dynamic priorities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority
