About the Graduate Trainees Programme and Position
Graduate recruitment programmes are becoming increasingly popular across a variety of industries. The company has recently expanded its reach in the East African region hence the need to grow its human resource capacity to be able to deliver to its clients.
The company is taking on an initiative through which it will recruit and nurture a team of young graduates who have interest in applied research to later graduate as competent and knowledgeable researchers. The young graduate trainees will be supported, coached and trained in technical and financial proposal writing, business development, data analysis and report writing and consultancy business development. The graduate trainees will be provided with a platform to apply the theory and put it into practice hence develop their research skills.
Jeeva is seeking to recruit fresh graduates from university with a ready to grow mindset, self-motivated, passionate and innovative to join the Graduate Trainee Recruits. The Trainees will work for an initial period of 6 months under the direct supervision of the Research Officer (RO).
Purpose
The positions are aimed at bringing on board a team of young and fresh graduates to learn and also apply their theory-based training from university into practice. This will provide the fresh graduates with the depth understanding of action/applied research, enable them conduct comprehensive literature and document review, learn about preparing both technical and financial proposals, support in preparing and submitting tenders and bids, understand in details research methodologies, and have an active role in doing data analysis and report writing among others activities.

How to Apply
Roles and Responsibilities
Graduate Trainees – Research
Under the supervision of the Research Officer, the Graduate Trainee attached to the research and business development department will support on the following roles;
Support the research team to carry out appropriate research and literature review.
Support the research team to prepare both technical and financial proposals, tenders, bids among others.
Support in identifying calls for proposals, Expression of Interest, RfPs, etc.
Support the process of report drafting and required attachments
Participating in meetings, training, and team-building events
Participate in client-meetings, validation workshops, and trainings
Perform any other supportive roles which may be assigned from time to time.
Support in design of data collection tools
Support in programming of tools on mobile platforms
Support in training of data collector or enumerators
Support in compiling qualitative data by editing, coding and analyzing
Support in quantitative data analysis
Support in report drafting and finalisation
Perform any other supportive roles which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Fresh graduates who recently graduated this year 2024 or are awaiting graduation before end of this year 2024
Should have completed Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, SWASA, Development Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Arts, Human Rights, Education, or relevant academic discipline
Should have completed Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, demography, population studies, biostatistics or relevant academic discipline
Should have atleast developed and completed an Academic Research Dissertation or Project during their study programme. Must indicate the topic and a photocopy of the approved/signed abstract/executive summary of their dissertation in any related field. The abstract must be signed by the academic supervisor.
Should have a verified academic transcript attached to their application
Should present a letter of recommendation from their head of department and dissertation supervisors.
Desirable
Should not be above 25 years (attach a copy of national ID)
Should have good communication skills
Should be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills
Should be open and ready to learning new things and concepts
Should be good computer literate with practical skills in Microsoft office i.e. MS Word and MS Excel, MS Publisher.
Attach a photocopy of University ID
Knowledge in data analysis software like STATA, SPSS, Nvivo, Atlast.ti etc., will be an added advantage
Compensation
The successful Graduate Trainee’s will be provided with Meals while at office, transport while on official work and a small allowance to meet basic needs.
