Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) Engineer to oversee oilfield power generation operations. This role is responsible for managing the operation, maintenance, and performance of GTGs, resolving technical issues, and supporting safe and efficient power generation across oilfield facilities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the commissioning and start-up of gas turbine generators (GTGs) for new oilfield projects.
Identify, monitor, and resolve power generation issues left outstanding by the Engineering Team.
Respond to emergencies in accordance with the Emergency Response Plan.
Implement directives from the Maintenance Supervisor.
Raise and manage fault reports related to power generation systems.
Collaborate with other departments to support integrated field operations.
Manage the procurement and inventory of GTG spare parts to ensure continuous availability.
Supervise the power generation team in conducting routine operations and maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GTG systems and auxiliary equipment.
Develop and execute power generation work plans and schedules.
Support the supervisor in managing the power generation budget and cost control.
Plan and carry out preventive maintenance on GTGs to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Oversee and coordinate the work of contractors involved in power generation tasks.
Train and mentor national staff on GTG operation and maintenance best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 8 years in power generation operations, with at least:
4 years in direct operation or maintenance of Gas Turbine Generators
Previous experience in a supervisory or lead operator role is preferred
Key Competencies & Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of gas turbine generators, mechanical systems, and power generation operations
Hands-on experience with GTG maintenance, fault diagnosis, and performance optimization
Familiarity with oilfield production environments and integrated energy systems
Well-versed in international industry standards and safety practices
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and coordination skills
