Job Description
On behalf of Our client in the NGO Sector, we are looking for a competent and experienced Fundraising Officer to be based in Kampala
The Fundraising Officer will develop and implement strategies to secure diverse funding sources, including grants, individual donations, corporate partnerships, and events. This role is essential for ensuring the financial sustainability of our programs and expanding our reach to support vulnerable communities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, goals, and annual targets.
- Research, identify, and cultivate relationships with potential donors, including international foundations, bilateral/multilateral agencies, corporate partners, high-net-worth individuals, and local supporters.
- Write high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and funding applications; ensure timely submission and follow-up.
- Maintain and update a donor database; track donor interactions, pledges, and reporting requirements.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, appeals, and digital initiatives to engage supporters and generate income.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing donors through stewardship, regular communication, and personalized engagement.
- Monitor donor trends, funding opportunities, and compliance requirements; prepare regular reports on fundraising progress for leadership and board.
- Collaborate with program teams to align fundraising efforts with project needs and impact stories.
- Support communications efforts by developing compelling content (case studies, impact reports, newsletters) to attract and retain donors.
