Are you a young graduate passionate about international relations?

Would you like to gain firsthand experience in diplomacy, development cooperation, and communications, while learning how the EU represents its values and interests abroad?

The EU Delegation to Uganda is offering a funded traineeship within the Cooperation Section and the Political, Press, and Information Section, beginning in November 2025.

What You Will Gain

Who We’re Looking For

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must currently reside in Uganda (due to local health and security considerations)

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Communications, History, or a related field

  • Demonstrate a strong command of written and spoken English

  • Have a keen interest in international relations, EU policy, development cooperation, and/or socio-economic development

  • Show motivation, initiative, and the ability to work well in a multicultural team

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of Uganda’s institutional and political landscape

  • Experience in social media management and content creation

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities

  • Good organizational and archiving skills
