Would you like to gain firsthand experience in diplomacy, development cooperation, and communications, while learning how the EU represents its values and interests abroad?
The EU Delegation to Uganda is offering a funded traineeship within the Cooperation Section and the Political, Press, and Information Section, beginning in November 2025.

How to Apply
Research & Analysis: Conduct analytical research on EU-Uganda cooperation and policy issues
Briefing Support: Draft briefings and contribute to political and cooperation reports
Data Coordination: Consolidate inputs from EU Member States and stakeholders
Event Support: Assist in organizing events, especially those marking the EU-Uganda 50th anniversary
Meeting Participation: Attend external/internal meetings and prepare detailed summaries
Youth Engagement: Contribute to the Delegation’s youth outreach and programming
Communications: Support visibility and public diplomacy efforts, including on social media
Archiving: Organize and maintain cooperation-related archival documentation
Who We’re Looking For
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must currently reside in Uganda (due to local health and security considerations)
Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Communications, History, or a related field
Demonstrate a strong command of written and spoken English
Have a keen interest in international relations, EU policy, development cooperation, and/or socio-economic development
Show motivation, initiative, and the ability to work well in a multicultural team
Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills
Understanding of Uganda’s institutional and political landscape
Experience in social media management and content creation
Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities
Good organizational and archiving skills
