To support our growing operations in Uganda, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to join our team as a Freelance Debt Executive.
Role Overview
As a Freelance Debt Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and timely collection of outstanding debts. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain healthy cash flow, minimize bad debts, and support financial stability.
This is a commission-based freelance role, ideal for a self-starter with strong networks and a background in credit control or debt recovery.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure timely collection of outstanding company debts from clients and advertisers.
Prepare and deliver invoices, account statements, and demand notes promptly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
Collaborate with the commercial team, legal office, and external debt collectors to recover long-standing debts.
Address client queries promptly and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work towards achieving or exceeding agreed debt recovery targets.
Comply with the company’s credit control policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution.
CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
Certificate in Credit Management is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in debt collection or credit control.
Strong understanding and networks across diverse business sectors.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and IT skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
High levels of integrity, professionalism, and results orientation.
A strong team player who can build productive working relationships.
