Job Description
As a Senior Manager in the FIST Audit: Insurance division, you will be responsible for managing delegated client engagements, primarily within the insurance sector. You will work closely with Partners to deliver audit services, ensure compliance with audit standards, and sustain profitability through effective budgeting and cost management. The role involves mentoring and developing junior staff, ensuring quality and risk management standards are upheld, and proactively contributing to Deloitte’s broader business strategies. You will be expected to lead challenging engagements, manage client relationships, and provide strategic insights that add value to the firm and its clients.

Lead the delivery of audit engagements for insurance clients.
Support Partners in managing delegated engagements/projects.
Manage engagement budgets, cost controls, and ensure profitability.
Deliver on challenging audit assignments aligned to the insurance industry.
Share expertise and provide continuous mentoring and guidance to team members.
Ensure compliance with risk management and quality standards.
Contribute proactively to the firm’s strategic business initiatives.
Participate in client-facing management roles and relationship-building activities.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certification
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
Experience
3–5 years in an Audit Manager role.
At least 2 years as a Senior Audit Manager.
Minimum 5 years in a client-facing management role.
Extensive audit experience with alignment to the insurance industry.
Core Competencies
Strong audit and assurance expertise.
Proven ability to sustain profitability and manage budgets.
Risk and quality management expertise.
Talent management and team leadership skills.
Ability to deliver high-quality client service in challenging environments.
