Job Description
The Fisheries Intern will assist technical staff in implementing aquaculture and fisheries programs, conducting field visits, and engaging with local communities on sustainable fisheries practices. The role will involve data collection, monitoring of fish farming activities, supporting training sessions for farmers, and assisting in policy and development initiatives. This internship offers diploma holders hands-on experience in fisheries resource management and aquaculture development within a county government setting.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support field activities related to aquaculture and fisheries management.
Assist in training and extension services for local fish farmers.
Collect and analyze fisheries data for monitoring and evaluation.
Participate in community sensitization on sustainable fisheries practices.
Support the preparation of reports, manuals, and technical materials.
Assist in the implementation of county fisheries and aquaculture projects.
Provide general administrative and technical support to the department.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Aquaculture and Fisheries or a related field from a recognized institution.
Strong interest in fisheries management and aquaculture.

Ability to work under supervision and in field conditions.
High level of integrity and commitment to public service.
