About the Role
Avanti Energy Services Limited is offering an exciting opportunity for a Financial and Tax Trainee to join our team in Kampala. This role is ideal for a recent graduate eager to begin a career in finance and taxation within Uganda’s dynamic energy sector.
As a trainee, you’ll gain hands-on experience with daily financial operations, tax processes, and regulatory compliance while supporting the finance team with data entry, analysis, and documentation. This is a great entry point for individuals looking to build foundational skills and grow within a leading local company.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Assist with routine finance tasks such as voucher sorting, document filing, and data entry.
Support data compilation, analysis, and reporting for financial and tax purposes.
Learn and adhere to the company’s financial procedures, tax policies, and relevant Ugandan regulations.
Collaborate with the finance team to support tax declaration and compliance activities.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Degree certificate and academic transcript are required.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Quick to learn and adapt to financial software systems.
Preferred Experience:
Prior internship or trainee experience (1 month or more) in a finance or tax department is an added advantage.
Familiarity with the basic tax declaration process in Uganda is preferred.
Work Ethic: Responsible, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow within a professional environment.
