Job Description

The internship program will provide graduates with hands-on training in various financial management functions. Interns will perform reconciliations, capture financial transactions, and prepare financial reports. They will rotate across key units within the Budget and Treasury Department, including Supply Chain Management, Expenditure, Salaries, Assets, and Revenue Management, as well as Internal Audit. The program aims to build skills, enhance employability, and support the municipality’s compliance with financial regulations while developing the next generation of finance professionals in local government.

Education

  • Grade 12 plus BCom in Accounting, or

  • National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Internal Audit, or equivalent qualification.

Requirements

  • Must be currently unemployed.

  • Must reside within the Moretele jurisdiction.

Competencies

  • Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles.

  • Computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
