Position Summary

MOGO Uganda is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Field Collections Supervisor to lead a team of Field Collection Officers. The role focuses on driving recovery efforts for overdue accounts while ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining a high level of customer service. This supervisory position demands strong leadership, performance management, and field-based loan recovery expertise.

The role requires 75% office-based work and 25% field engagement across assigned regions.

How to Apply

1. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Supervise, coach, and support Field Collection Officers to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly collection targets.

  • Allocate leads and monitor the performance of field agents across assigned territories.

  • Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and facilitate on-the-job training and mentoring.

2. Loan Recovery Operations

  • Oversee follow-up activities for overdue loans and ensure timely and effective recovery by the team.

  • Assist in resolving escalated or complex default cases.

  • Review repayment plans and field reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.

3. Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on field collection performance.

  • Monitor KPIs and identify gaps or inefficiencies within the recovery process.

  • Analyze delinquency trends and suggest actionable strategies to improve field recovery rates.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Credit, Legal, Customer Service) to manage escalations and recovery processes.

  • Collaborate with guarantors, community leaders, and local authorities to support recovery efforts.

  • Address and resolve customer complaints with professionalism and empathy.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure the collections team adheres to internal policies and regulatory standards.

  • Promote ethical and respectful practices during all recovery activities.

  • Identify and report fraud, misconduct, or irregularities for timely investigation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in loan collections or credit recovery, with 1+ years in a supervisory role.

  • Field-based experience within microfinance, financial services, or asset finance is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan management systems.

  • Ability to manage pressure, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.

  • High integrity and commitment to ethical recovery practices.
