Job Description
To safely operate company trucks and efficiently and on time transport goods to various destinations while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate light, medium, or heavy trucks to transport goods over short and long distances.
- Plan delivery routes and ensure all transport documentation is complete.
- Safely load and unload cargo and ensure proper securing of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel usage, mileage, and working hours.
- Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers.
- Report mechanical faults, accidents, or delays immediately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the assigned truck and equipment.
- Handle delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures where required.
