Job Description
The Facility Officer conducts routine inspections, identifies defects, and coordinates corrective and preventive maintenance for building services (power, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, elevators, generators). The role raises and tracks work orders, schedules vendors, supervises on-site staff (janitors, security, gardeners), enforces safety and housekeeping standards, and sends daily operational reports to the Head of Operations. The officer troubleshoots faults, prioritizes repairs to minimize downtime, and maintains basic records of inventories, service logs, and warranties.

Tip: Attach a brief list of sites/equipment you’ve managed (elevators, generators, HVAC), plus 1–2 quantified maintenance achievements.
Carry out regular building and grounds inspections; log issues and action plans.
Coordinate repairs, installations, and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) for equipment, elevators, generators, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Supervise on-site teams (janitors, security guards, gardeners); ensure shift discipline and service standards.
Monitor utilities and equipment performance; escalate recurring faults and risks.
Enforce safety, cleanliness, and access control around plant rooms and common areas.
Maintain maintenance records, vendor schedules, spare parts lists, and service reports.
Prepare and submit daily operations reports to the Head of Operations.
Support vendor/contractor onboarding, site inductions, and job close-out documentation.
Respond to emergencies and prioritize critical interventions to reduce downtime.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
OND/HND/B.Sc. (or equivalent).
Qualified electrician or plumber with proven hands-on experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in facility management/maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication, organization, and teamwork; able to work independently.
Readiness to resume immediately.
