Job Description
The Extension Worker will provide technical guidance to farmers groups and offer extension services in Kerwa Sub County. This role involves building community capacity through training and practical demonstrations of good agronomic practices to support livelihood and environmental interventions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to farmers groups and offer extension services
- Participate in building the capacity of the community on livelihood and environment related interventions through trainings and demonstrations of good practices in their own household and demonstration-gardens
- Participate in training of farmers in good agronomic practices like climate smart agriculture and agro-ecology
- Mobilize and sensitize community to participate in livelihood project activities
- Participate in registration and selection of beneficiaries
- Participate in data collection at household level
- Support VSLA farmer by giving training
- Participate in monitoring and supervision of livelihood project
- Participate in preparation of quality, weekly and monthly reports
- Support the nutrition officer in establishment of vegetable gardens demonstration in the operation area.
- Attend capacity building trainings organized by HHA in relation to the area of context
- Any other assigned or designated duty from your supervisor or manager
